Snowstorm Cancels After School Activities

Morris School District and Morris Plains School District clear the slate at the end of the regular school day.

The snow that moved into the area early this this morning has cancelled after school activities for students in the Morris Plains and Morris School District, according to officials. 

The Morris Plains School District will dismiss at regular time and the Y aftercare program will still be offered. but all after school events, competitions, activities and practices at both schools have been cancelled for today, Tuesday. The Board of Education meeting will be held as planned tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Borough School.

The same is true in the Morris School District as they have cancelled all after school and evening activities. Sunset program will close at 5:00 p.m. and Hillcrest Sunset has been moved to Alexander Hamilton. 

According to the Morris County Office of Emergency Management, Morris was placed under a Winter Weather Advisory from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday. The snow could start as early as 5-7a.m. with a higher chance of activity coming in between 8 a.m. 1 p.m, said the MCOEM

According to the MCOEM the early prediction suggests an accumulation of two to four inches, but those numbers could decrease as the storm picks up speed.
