, everyone returned on Monday to Old Bridge's Lombardi Field to finish what they started on Thursday.
On his final high school shot put throw in New Jersey, Morristown High School senior Nick Vena broke his own state record with a throw of 75-feet 10-1/4 inches. Vena, who broke his own meet record on his second throw, surpassed 70-feet on all six throws. Vena’s six throws were: 72-0, 73-0, 72-3, 71-10 ½, 71-7 ½, and 75-10 ¼. The six throws over 70 feet raised his career total to an incredible 96 throws greater than 70 feet.
Delbarton High School senior Morgan Pearson won the rerun of the boys 3,200 meter run, which was halted last Thursday with less than two laps to go. In the rerun on Monday the Rosa twins of West Windsor-Plainsboro North, who were running 1-2 when the race was halted did not run. Pearson’s winning time was 9:02.48.
Also competing on Monday was the Morristown-Beard school's boys and girls 4x400 meter relays teams. The boys relay team finished 27th in a time of 3:36.08. The girls team finished 30th in a time of 4:11.68.
