Ready for Christmas 2013?

Take a few extra minutes as you put away your decorations to position yourself way ahead in your preparations for the Holidays 2013.

Wait!!  Before you put those Holiday cards in the recycling, give some thought to preparing for Christmas 2013.  I know it seems a long way away right now.  Everyone is looking forward to the New Year and we all want to hit the ground of 2013 running.  Time to pack away those stockings and ornaments and get the kids packed up and back off to school.  However, you know how fast the months fly by and December 2013 will be on our doorstep before we know it.

Every year I take a few minutes, as I pack away all the Christmas paraphernalia, to position myself way ahead with my Christmas planning for the next year.  Have you ever been in the awkward position where, as the Holidays approach, you realize you’ve completely forgotten who sent you a  card the year before?  You don’t want to leave anyone off your card list, but not having a list of who you received cards from might mean one or two special people slip your memory.  This is especially true for people you seldom are in contact with.  As I take my holiday cards down from their display after Christmas, I make a list of all those I received cards from.  I have learned from past years that I should never write my list on a scrap paper in the hopes that I’ll know where I stashed it when I need it in 11 months time!!  By this time of year everyone should already own an agenda/calendar for the whole of the new year, January - December.  My suggestion is to write your list of names (with addresses) in the margin or “To Do” page attached to the month of December 2013 in your agenda.  Throughout the year as new people walk into your life and your business, add them to your list.

As December 2013 rolls around,  all you will have to do is get your holiday cards printed/purchased, sit down with a warm mug of hot cocoa and write your holiday wishes to those you hold near and dear!
