Colonial Boys Capture Silver at Indoor Track Sectional Title Meet

Two athletes grab gold in three events.

Running into a buzz saw from Mendham, the competition faced a great challenge at the North 2, Group 3 sectional title indoor track meet recently, but the Morristown Colonials stood tall and took home second place.

The boys team scored 50 points, ahead of Randolph’s 45-point third place finish, and had several individual athletes with strong showings in the meet.

Senior Sean Lyons took gold in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:21.15, besting Mendham’s Paul Ehmann by just 0.81 seconds. Lyons also took gold in the 3,200 meter run.
