Morristown High School Baseball Drops to West Morris

IN SHORT

Morristown could never get it going against the Wolfpack from West Morris Central, losing 7-1 in Long Valley. The Colonials had runners in scoring position in five of seven innings but each time their rally ended with a Morristown batter striking out. Their only run came in the top of the seventh inning after West Morris changed pitchers. On defense, the Colonials committed five errors.

David Smith—Batting in the number seven spot as the DH, Smith went 3-3 with two singles and a double.

OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES

Dominic Pisciotto had two hits, a single and a double.  

The lone run of the game came when sub Ryan Theriault cracked a double to center to score Chad Fu, who singled to start the inning.

“We played a pretty good team here,” said Coach Josh Ury. “They put it to us today. They were ready to play and I don’t think we were,” he added.
