The next SuperFit qualifier will be held at the Teaneck National Guard Armory on Saturday, May 4

One woman from Morristown is moving forward in a fitness competition. Erin Clancy of Guerilla Fitness in Morristown has been participating in the SuperFit Championships, a series of intense qualifying fitness competitions leading up to the championship on the Jersey Shore.

She made it past the second qualifier at the Toms River National Guard Armory on Saturday and the next SuperFit qualifier will be held at the Teaneck National Guard Armory on Saturday, May 4.

“Today was a lot of fun. I love coming down here. My family is from Toms River so its great to compete with my parents watching and my brother also competing (Michael Clancy of CrossFit Shrewsbury),” said Clancy. “There were a lot of really great athletes here. It definitely pushed me.”

With all the athletes contending to advance to the championship at Jenkinson’s Beach on June 22, the competitive atmosphere was apparent during the three different fitness events, which included a timed burpee-box jump and slam ball workout, a clean and jerk ladder, and a timed overhead squat and double under workout.

After tabulating the cumulative scores, the finalists were announced at the end of the competition and awarded finalist medals from Sgt. First Class Theodore Berry of the New Jersey Army National Guard.
