Government

• Town Hall: Morristown Town Hall, municipal buildings and offices area closed Thursday.
• Morris County: County buildings are closed Thursday
• Federal, state and local courts will be closed.
• Financial and stock markets will be closed.
• Trash collection: There will be no Garbage Collection, Recycling, or Leaf Collection in Morristown. However, Garbage Collection, Recycling and Leaf Collection will resume the day following the Holiday, so please be sure to leave your garbage out that evening.

Around town

• Post office: Morristown Post Offices will not be open on the Fourth of July, nor will there be any mail delivery or pickup. 
• Morris County Library will be not be open Thursday
• Morristown and Morris Township Library will not be open on Thursday

Businesses

• Banks: Most banks will be closed on Wednesday, so call your branch before you head out the door.

Transportation

• NJ Transit trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule on all lines.
• Newark Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule.
• For people traveling to the New Jersey waterfront to view the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, NJ Transit will add extra trains on the Morris & Essex Lines with additional trains to and from Hoboken Terminal. The Family Super Saver Fare will be in effect until 6 a.m. Monday on all trains (except for travel to/from Metro North stations), buses and light rail lines.
