Every year the high school youth group, Koinonia, at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown goes to New York City and participates in YSOP, Youth Service Opportunity. As apart of the conformation class the student must complete a service project in order to be confermed. For years the church has taken groups of youth, ages ranging from 14 to 18 years old, to help them fulfill this requirement. This year 20 high schoolers, on November 16-17, will take the train into New York City and serve others in a variety of different ways.

YSOP has been serving others for years. They are committed to helping young people become part of the solution to societal problems by showing them how even their smallest actions can make a difference in the lives of others. They welcome people of all ages but specialize in changing the lives of high school and college students.

In past years the youth of The Presbyterian Church in Morristown have done things such as: work at a soup kitchen, they work to bring food to various food pantries, cleaned up local gardens, and help many homeless New Yorkers find a place to eat. The best thing about the YSOP trip is that so many youth want to go and have a great time while helping and serving others.
