Life after Hurricane Sandy - One family's story as Sandy Relief work continues

A year and a half ago, Superstorm Sandy damaged or destroyed over 346,000 homes in New Jersey – 22,000 were declared uninhabitable. With the passage of time, we assume things get back to normal and we can move on. But that has not happened. Come to a Soup and Salad Dinner on April 24 at 6:30pm a the Parish House location of The Presbyterian Church in Morristown, (65 South St, Morristown) to hear Bob and Pam Vasquez of Union Beach tell of their house disintegrating under their feet, the harrowing, multi-hour crossing through water over their heads to a neighbor’s house, and how this frightful journey strengthened their faith. Watch the film, “Praise Him in the Storm,” featured in USA Today. There will be a free-will donation request for Sandy Relief.

Find out what still needs to be done and how you can help. Join work parties to Union Beach and environs to help rebuild. The Presbyterian Church in Morristown sponsors day-trips twice a month.
