Rally Day at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown on Sunday

Join us for Rally Daya community welcome parade and picnic, on Sunday, September 8.  We start with worship in the PCM Sanctuary, 57 East Park Place, at 10 a.m., then parade over to our Parish House at 65 South Street at 11 a.m.  This year's parade will be led by the kazoo-playing Shriners Clown unit.  Everyone is invited for "clowning around", music, juggling and food!  Come learn about our fall programs for families with Church School on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. and W!, our new Wednesday program for children and youth starting on September 11, at 4 p.m.  We offer fun, educational activities and vocal and bell choir rehearsals in one of three children's choirs: JAM, Bel Melodia and Bel Canto.  Middle school and high school youth gather on Wednesdays for dinner, gym activities, and relevant teaching with PCM Youth Ministry Director, Angie Rines.  Our Adult Education programs offer opportunities for adult study using guest speakers, discussion guides, Bible Studies, Faith on Film viewing and discussion series, and a faith-based book club.  Our Sunday Morning Seminar series is packed with interesting speakers and topics from Shape Note Singing with local vocalist Elise Figa to author Reza Aslan discussing Zealot:  The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth and Dr. Stephen D. Moore of the Drew Theological School on additional texts that should be included in the New New Testament.

Rally Day also provides an opportunity to join our Hurricane Sandy Relief Outreach efforts.  We have been organizing and sending work teams to the Jersey shore to repair primary homes since January 2013.  We have an upcoming day work trip to Union Beach, NJ, on September 14, and  a week-long work trip to Forked River starting October 6.  For more information, stop by the PCM Parish House, 65 South Street, Morristown, on Sunday after 11 a.m. at the Rally Day picnic.
