Knights Come Together to Honor Morristown, Twp. Police

Police Appreciation Dinner draws 225 guests.

The Knights of Columbus are known for their community efforts and support.

Their latest venture, however, was to support those who risk everything to serve the Morristown and Morris Township areas.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the Knights of Columbus Council 359 held a Police Appreciation Dinner for the officers from both towns to honor the men in blue.

A Knights committee of Tony Gervasio, Bill Duggan, Mike Stellato, John Lee, Tom Buchner, Thomas DePoortere, Bernie Flanagan, Tom McNeese and Alan George worked together to organize the dinner, held at the Madison Hotel and had some 225 guests.

“The community really hit the streets to raise money (for the event),” said Lee in a statement. “The community and local businesses really showed up to support the police. We really wanted to show (the police) that the Knights appreciate them in making our surrounding community safe and somewhere we should all be proud of.”
