“As the title of our celebration suggests, we’re planning a tasteful, festive evening full of laughs, music, food, and dance. It’s our way of engaging the community we serve while raising funds that will enable us to continue offering quality enrichment programs for local youth,” said Carol Lynn Patterson, chair of the CCDC Board of Directors. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our five years of service to the northern New Jersey region than to host a party with a purpose.”

The proceeds of A Tasteful Celebration of Motown Music & Comedy will help support the mission of CCDC, which is to enhance the well-being of its community through education, outreach and collaborative partnerships. CCDC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and offers a variety of “youth enrichment services” (YES) to improve the health of the minds, bodies and souls of young people in its service area. Signature programs include YES Camp and the YES Leadership Academy.  Licensed by the state of New Jersey, YES Camp offers a well-rounded, six-week, innovative summer experience to children in grades K-10 and is designed to stimulate and facilitate fun, enrichment, leadership development, and wellness. Campers enjoy healthy meals, guest speakers, and trips to the Bronx Zoo, Liberty Science Center, and Dorney Park.

The YES Leadership Academy provides students in grades 1-12 one-on-one and group training sessions to learn how to become effective leaders in their communities and to enhance their prospects of going to and graduating from college. In addition to training sessions, students earn volunteer hours through various community service activities, take field trips, and gain hands-on knowledge of fiscal responsibility by planning and executing fundraising projects.
