Snow Shuffles Saturday Schedules in Morristown

Parking garages opened up to residents and events called off due to the winter storm.

Pre-winter storm or not the third weather event of the week is set to hit the area early Saturday morning and the effects are already being felt.

According to the Morris County Office of Emergency management, the storm appears to be on track for an early morning start with light snow, accumulating around 1" by 1 p.m. The MCOEM said they anticipate the snow to become moderate to heavy as we move into the afternoon and evening, falling at a rate of around 1" per hour with total snowfall accumulation between 4”-9” range depending on elevation.

In advance of the snowfall, Morristown has opened their parking garages to residents beginning at noon on Saturday through 8 a.m. on Monday.
Residents are reminded to show a drivers license as proof of residency upon exiting and the parking fee will be waived.

Organizers of the pop-up parklet workshop in Morristown scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled, as has the Everytown is Newtown Vigil at the Redeemer Church.
