Every Sunday for the past 2 months we've visited this 7-Eleven to purchase 6 newspapers. We buy them primarily for the coupons, and have had experiences with missing inserts. So, we gently leaf through the papers, in full view of the register, and 99% of the time, put the paper on a stack of ones we are going to purchase.
This week an employee started yelling at us not to look at the newspapers and only purchase them. I explained what we do. He's there every week when we buy newspapers. And, we often buy other items for lunch. But, he refused to let us examine the newspapers before we could purchase them. We ALWAYS make sure the newspaper area is clean, and often we straighten it up from other customers before we leave. We're quick, quite, and help other customers locate the paper they want, stepping out of the way. I was stunned by the rudeness of this employee -- and if this is the standard for customer service, I can assure you that we will never shop at this franchise again.
After leaving we walked a little further down the street to the Morristown Newsstand. The manager, Patel, was friendly, helped us make sure the inserts were in the paper, and welcomed our business. We will be going there from now on.

Great value and friendly staff. Sorry Scott had a bad experience, I'm always greeted with a smile.....
