Hunan Wok is a affordable restaurant that offers a full menu of Chinese and Japanese food, priding itself on using the highest quality ingredients, no MSG and vegetable oil only to prepare its dishes. It has been a Morristown staple for more than 15 years, and since there is only one table inside, most customers opt to take their food to go or have it delivered. The delivery range includes Morristown, Morris Township, Morris Plains, Madison Borough, the Parsippany Business Campus, Florham Park, Cedar Knolls, Whippany and Harding Township.

It's a bad thing when you see your stir-fry cook puffing on cigarettes while cooking. It's especially bad when the food tastes like cigarette smoke from this cook

We have ordered lunches from this restaurant for more years than I can count---about 2 decades. While there have been subtle changes in the food over the years, today's lunch was horrific! The Cashew chicken lunch special had three small pieces of chicken. More importantly, it was served in a dark brown, salty, sweet sauce that resembled the plum sauce of Moos Shu Pork. The overall color was like a dark Teriyaki. Even the eggroll was substandard: heavy rolls of dough around filling the size of a pencil. I called them (their sales receipt says to "Please tell us about the quality of our food and service"). Beleive me, they don't want to know. We are sad to see an old favorite become a retaurant fom which we will never order again.

I like Hunan Wok, particularly when I am departing from the train station and want to eat lunch al fresco while waiting for a train. This is a very small restaurant with no tables, so all of its services are take-out or delivery. I have used both successfully. When I call up to pre-order take-out for 30 minutes hence, it is always ready for me. When I call for delivery, they have a good record of delivering just before or after the promised time. My favorite here is Singapore mai fun, which is vermicelli-type noodles with chicken, pork and shrimp. This dish in a luncheon special with soup or egg roll is $6.15. I love the varied flavors of it. Delivery involves my wife ordering something for dinner and that typically is less successful than my Singapore mai fun (which is $9.50 in a quart size). She orders chicken curry every time, but is not satisfied with the flavors of this Hunan Wok's chicken curry versus other Chinese restaurant delivery food. It costs $8.75 in a quart with a pint of rice on the side but no soup or egg roll.
