The county clerk's office performs a wide range of services, from record-keeping to officiating weddings. The current clerk is Joan Bramhall, who was elected to a five-year term. She maintains all county land records and related legal documents, which the public may view either by visiting the Searcher's Vault in the clerk's office or via the clerk's Web site. Documents reviewed and recorded by the clerk include deeds, mortgages and maps. The clerk's registry also processes construction lien claims, clerk certificates, business trade name certificates, veterans discharge (DD214) papers and vendor licenses for veterans. <br /><br />The clerk is also involved in the electoral process, preparing, printing and distributing absentee, machine and sample ballots for all elections and officially tabulating and certifying the results. The public may view election results at www.MorrisElectionResults.org. <br /><br />Residents may come to the clerk's office for passport and notary public applications and to obtain county IDs. The clerk's Web site also offers specific information on notary public applications, passports and county ID cards.
