Pomodoro is to Pete's as McDonalds is to Sebastian's.
Pomodoro
973-538-6000
Pomodoro is a classic pizzeria which offers a full array of regular and specialty slices. In addition to pizzas, it also sells gelato, pasta, meat dishes, salads, subs, wraps and calzones. The main room is well-lit and open with a few tables surrounding the large pizza oven, kitchen and counter. To the left, is a secondary dining room where diners can enjoy the ambiance of a restaurant, rather than a pizzeria. This room can be requested for private parties.

Great food, better prices. The new owner has it down! BYOB. Will go back again and again.
Great service, great food, I was there last night again and i got a nice bottle of wine with me, the new owner has given a nice vibe to the dining room, nice place to have a quite dinner. Looks like they have special every week, last night I had their Grilled Tilapia over sauteed vegetable in garlic and oil, and my wife had Chicken Anthony shitake mushroom, shallot onions, and shrimp in a light red sauce. Last thing, they have home made bread a home made dipping sauce, I wish I know what kind of sauce is it. I love that place.
Updated review:
We're done with this place. We've had numerous bad experiences with Pomodoro, but kept giving them second chances because when the pizza was made right, it was pretty good. The real problem is a lack of attention to service quality.
Once, we called ahead to pick up an order and arrived 20 minutes to find out they hadn't even started preparing the pizza. At least twice, we've been given the wrong pie when picking up, only to realize it after getting home. This latest incident was the last nail in the coffin. We again were given the wrong pizza, but neglected to check before we left the restaurant. I called them when we discovered the error, and was happy to hear them offer to re-make the pie and deliver the replacement.
After the replacement pie arrived and I tipped the driver, we opened the pizza box to find that the pizza must have been rushed when cooking, and either was driven at extremely high cornering g's or the box was tipped sideways. Most of the cheese and toppings had slid off the pizza and were piled in a corner. I was furious. I wish I could upload the picture to share with readers.
Bottom line is that if the service is really improved, this could be a good restaurant, but we're done taking our chances. There are far too many other choices here in Morristown to roll the dice on Pomodoro again.
We've eaten here a few times now, both in the restaurant and take-out. I have to say that the pizza is definitely tasty. However, the lady who takes the orders needs to pay closer attention. About half of the times we've ordered from here, there have been screwups. Sometimes we would get home and realize they gave us the wrong pizza, other times she would forget to put the order in and we'd have to wait for them to make it while we waited. Finally, what prompted me to write this review was this past Saturday she simply either didn't hear or forgot my fiancee's order, so she had to wait while the rest of us got our slices.
So, the pizza is good, specifically I had a baked ziti slice and a buffalo chicken slice, but they really need to improve their order-taking process to ensure that they don't lose customers out of frustration.
Very good pizza and very good service. With the new owners i am seeing very good changes. The dining room now is more like a restaurant and the front is pizza, they are making this place into a pizzeria and restaurant. I love the food now they are using fresh produce instead of frozen food like the previous owners and you can taste the difference. Definitely my favorite pizza/restaurant in Morristown.
New owners of the Pomodoro Pizza have put in a couple of changes. The not so nice lady behind the counter is GONE! They also have a different specialty pizza every day. The taco pizza is a must to try.
Last night my wife and I went to Pomodoro Pizza and I must tell you I tryed the special "Pomodoro Pasta" it was terrific! corkscrew pasta with sundried tomatos shrimp and chicken in a light cream sauce best meal in a long time.
I was in the mood for some real good chicken ranch pizza and had to stop in. My good fortune caught it just coming out of the oven. In fact there were several new kinds of pizza's to sample a slice from might I suggest the Cheese steak pizza yummmm. Anyway there was a new woman working the counter tonight , very pleasent I might add. Oh before I forget the "pomodoro" did not raise their prices over the St. Patricks day parade day like so many other places did. Good job "Pomodoro" keep up the good work.
The best food in town!!! I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and I have to say this is the best. The pizza is great!!! You get to choose between thin sliced or regular with a variety of different pizzas. The dinners are just out of this world!!! I just had the baked ziti and just had to write that it was the best dinner I have had in such a long time!!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great meal at a very low price!!!!

I p/up Pomodoro's pies for a few years now. I totally agree with the person above who complained about mistakes; its happened to me a few times. Now I know to check the pie before leaving. Their very thin crust pie is terrific. However, I recently ordered same and got what seemed to be a medium thick crust and didn't like it. I'll give them one more shot and specify very thin crust. If it is not what I've enjoyed before, they're off my speed dial.
