High-End Wine Store with Delivery Service Coming to Morristown

Owners also plan to host classes on wines and craft beers.

Two locals are looking to take advantage of the "BYOB" nature of many Morristown restaurants with the launch of a new business at The Highlands at Morristown Station, next to the incoming restaurant, The Godfather. Cambridge Wines is the new business from co-owners Anthony Dinelli, originally from New York, and David Bernat, who is from the Morristown area. After leasing the space in January, they plan to open at the end of June or early July. As for their grand opening, they plan to hold off and do a joint event with The Godfather. They met at Manhattan College where Dinelli was studying Business Finance and Bernat was studying Business Management. “We were always in the restaurant business, and we were always coming up with great ideas…

Nugent’s Prime Meat Market will open in early June.

Howard Horowitz, Tony Prizzi and Tim Nugent are opening Nugent’s Prime Meat Market between Elite Picture Framing and Epitome Style Lounge on Speedwell Avenue.  Prizzi—who currently works for Morgan Stanley—and Horowitz are from Morris Township and Nugent, a Weichert real estate agent, is originally from Morris Plains. “We bought the building in June 2012,” said Horowitz. “The building was an eyesore and not kept up, so we gave it a facelift, put in new windows and doors.” The space between the framing store and hair salon was vacant for two years and …

Members of the Morris County Mental Health Association were on hand to receive the certificate.

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty has proclaimed May as Mental Health Month. Mental Health Association of Morris County's Tracey Cappiccille, and Madine Despeine, were on hand to accept the proclamation certificate.  “May is mental health month … It’s an opportunity for the country to recognize all the issues with mental health and that 1 in 4 individuals suffer from mental illness,” said Cappiccille. “Also, what’s important is this stigma that surrounds it that people are embarrassed or ashamed and they don’t go for help because of this. I think it’s important to break through the stigma and continue to provide compassion to people struggling with mental illness and to bring attention to the methods that are making their lives better.” The …

Possible Changes to Morristown Truck Loading Zones

Some of the changes include shifting around loading and parking spaces.

Concerns from residents about noise and traffic from delivery trucks has prompted the introduction of a new town ordinance. Phil Abramson of the town’s planning department gave a presentation on a plan to change the town’s parking restrictions and loading zones within the public roadways surrounding the Epstein’s Rehabilitation area. The analysis was done by T&M Associates, which is the planning board’s engineer, and Jonathan Rose Co. Abramson said that a lot of the issues were parking in the wrong places, trucks using the no-standing area as a loading area, people using the loading area as a standing area and contractors double parking. “Striping will be painted to label loading and no-standing zones,” said Abramson.  Councilwoman Alison …

Bring the government in to try and fix this "problem" what …   more ›
