MURDER - not even soldiers have the right to kill helpless, unarmed, wounded enemy !!!!!
Pat Kittle April 23, 2014 at 09:39 pm
Kitzer -- If I was mortally wounded, suffering horribly, especially while being caught doing aRead More sleazy chronic criminal act, I might like to have my suffering ended immediately. We could make the case that the effect of not administering "a clean finishing shot" would be cruel.
henny bogan April 23, 2014 at 10:11 pm
Bottom line is he was armed they were not. They were just stupid kids. He could have held them andRead More called the police. As a gun owner and a marksman I believe he is just a sick mean old man who wanted to kill some one.

No Hillary. Vote GOP. Stop the decline of America.

No doubt after seeing this, the River Dell HS BOE will be recommending another undeserved raise forRead More their superintendent. Shame on them for the last raise with nothing to show for it. Too bad Gov Christie hasn't been able to address some of the problems in NJ such as TOO MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS! SCHOOL TAX INEQUITY! Congrats to the schools on the list. Especially the non-application schools. Well done.

Cops got a chance to play with their toys. Relax people. It's not like you had to respondRead More personally. Stop saying it's a waste of money. Then money is absolutely minimal. These guys were not called away from their golf games. I would also like to compliment the responders for not accidentally killing someone. It showed professionalism and did not add to the "trend" of killing "innocent" people; which is becoming an issues to watch. The people incensed over this should focus their anger on plastic shopping bags as many others are doing over at another great Patch piece. Evil lurks at the checkout counters across America!

Linda Mahoney >> the doorbell prank was just that, a prank, that involved actual self risk,Read More courage and cost nothing to do. these brats today have no respect for wasting resouces whilst sitting ontheir fanny all day.

Like the video game has something to do with it, who writes this rubbish? Next they will be sayingRead More is a shooter and we here to grab all your guns. As if. ~OathkeeprOne. constitution before corrupt govt.

Every one who is a us citizen with no felony convictions is guarantied the right to keep and bearRead More arms to protect himself, his family and his country.theres a reason it's the 2nd amendment.and that's to protect #1 remember that and vote for your rights all of them not just the ones that you like but all of them!
Pete April 23, 2014 at 12:21 pm
Unfortunately, the constitutional guarantee is often shortstopped by local and state officials.Read More Does anyone reading this remember how, back in the 50s or early 60s, the chief of police in Par-Troy abrogated the Second Amendment by the simple stratagem of refusing to give anyone the APPLICATION form for a permit ?
Jake Mathews April 23, 2014 at 04:01 pm
There should be no reason to a carry permit other that a criminal conviction
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.
Seamus Carty April 23, 2014 at 06:47 pm
"The goal of Affirmative was to right an over two hundred years wrong." My family did notRead More get to the US until 1948. Are we part of the two hundred years of wrong? Why should my orthopedic surgeon's kid get preferential treatment over my nephew (son of a plumber) based on the relative complexions?
Porter gladstone April 23, 2014 at 08:25 pm
Hmm--it's all about academics. That's awesome. I wonder why kids play lacrosse or volunteer atRead More church, or play an instrument. After all, you shoulndt take into account one factor other than test scores. Cool. I just happen to think that not many of you believe that's the way it works.
Liu Wei April 23, 2014 at 09:14 pm
playing lacrosse or volunteering at church, or playing an instrument, demonstrate talent, not quitRead More the same as AA genius. ps: where did you go to college?

Quite clearly, politicians and elected officials were excluded from this study.

This is what happens when you want to pay teachers 6 digit salaries for average at best schools, ifRead More you do not then maybe you should move to Fla.

Pretty cool - nice to see an eclectic line-up at the theatre. You can only have South Side Johnny soRead More many times in one year.
The Stig April 22, 2014 at 01:10 pm
Dickie also can't stand not seeing his name in the paper once a week, so he'll be "for" orRead More "against" something just for the sake of issuing a press release. Sending out a camera crew to interview him just enables him further. Forty years and counting. He's the poster child for Term Limits.
Mac April 22, 2014 at 03:26 pm
the only difference I see between Codey and Christie is that one is wearing an orange cone and theRead More other one is still renting them out at will - regardless, the longer Julie Herrman remains at Rutgers, the longer Rutgers's integrity is going to be under a public cloud
Clyde Z April 23, 2014 at 07:59 am
her hiring was a joke, I mean they said they did a background check: must not have used GoogleRead More search because they've listed her troubles before her hire at Rutgers. Not to mention that she "lied" on her application. I've had co-workers fired after a month, months and in another case years after their hire due to lies on their application. Hermann's lies could/should have been cought by simple 10th grade investigation
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
Tamara April 23, 2014 at 09:32 pm
Also on the Northville MI Parents for Educational Excellence page you can see links to the tests toRead More see how bias they are. Teachers will teach to the tests and if they are teaching something you don't like - too bad because it is on the test! *****There is also a link to the social studies standards. The social studies standards and science standards are liberal-bias, anti-American and actually just not accurate in a lot of cases. They tell our kids that they as citizens are meant to follow all the rules of the big bad government, for example. Things that made this country great and are still in existence, are few and far between - like the government is for the people and by the people and has limited powers... You wont find what the powers that be (follow the money) don't want the kids to learn. ******We all know what Hitler and many others have said about how to get to a nation and that is thru the kids minds... The proof is all there - please dig! Read the tests. ******We all WISH this was just "minimum standards"!
Tamara April 23, 2014 at 10:06 pm
IB is very anti-American, anti-Christian, etc. Please see the Northville MI Parents for EducationalRead More Excellence FB page for a few posts on IB, including a book review of the IB Theory of Knowledge (IB TOK) book - which is the basis of the program.
Susan Harris April 23, 2014 at 10:12 pm
Tamara, what social studies standards are you talking about? The Common Core only covers standardsRead More in literacy and math. There are no CC standards for science or history. Are you talking about state standards?

SILENT WOLF April 23, 2014 at 10:02 pm
WILL THOSE WHO OPPOSE IT BEING THERE TELL ME HOW IT HURTS THEIR FEELINGS , RIGHTS, GO ON I'MRead More LISTENING...It's in there apparently because it seemed right for this nation then and still now and it has done nothing to hurt you or anyone around you. Like I say if you want to believe in a rock as your GOD then feel free.If Allah is your god then worship that....
Madeleine April 23, 2014 at 10:09 pm
Silent Wolf: there should be no mention of God or Allah or Buddha or the Talisman in aRead More publicly-owned government facility. This is America and the people should practice whatever religious faith they want without government endorsement, acceptance, interference, or dictates. "Being there", as you say, doesn't "hurt" anyone; it just should not be there. Period.
SILENT WOLF April 23, 2014 at 10:12 pm
Kitzer ,sounds like your mocking the bible. it's spelled God not GAWD... This so called family ifRead More there really is a family , or it could be just a political ploy to get me and you going ..Regardless if it is true they have the right to remain silent.. wouldn't want to take the 5th away from them .

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.
Gregg L. DesElms April 23, 2014 at 10:36 am
TO MICHAEL BRENNICK: Leftist, Democra... WHAT? You think Comcast is part of the so-calledRead More "liberal" media (which, by the way, doesn't even exist)? Are you freakin' KIDDIN' me? [shakes head in disbelief] Wow. The FOX NEWS CHANNEL should be held criminally liable for what it has done to your brain.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! On the Fierce Wireless website | http://bit.ly/1i9J0l7 | Interesting.

At least they are bi-partisan. An inappropriate Democratic role model last year and an inappropriateRead More Republican one this year. I don't object to celebrities being role models, but why can't they choose someone who is a noted philanthropist or some other positive figure? I wonder how much someone paid for this honor. And what is this National Father's Day/Mother's Day Council anyway?

I don't believe this kid is competent enough to make those decisions. Those kids need to beRead More prosecuted to the fullest and if the does judge does not agree he needs to step down.
Pat Mcloughlin April 23, 2014 at 01:27 pm
Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Then, there is animal cruelty involved, another terrible crime, plus, harassment of all kinds, leudness, & who knows what else. These 'friends' need to be charged & made aware of the seriousness of their deeds, punished accordingly & helped through proper mental councelling.
nonoise April 23, 2014 at 05:49 pm
It is probly the parents that want to drop the charges, not the boy. They shouldn't. I don'tRead More know why they would want to drop the charges.
