More than 100 teachers, parents and doctors came out to the Morristown Medical Center on Thursday, May 10 to discuss the growing pressures that adolescents are facing in school and with extracurricular activities, and the impact it is having with children and teens across the country. Doctor Thomas Zaubler, the chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry at Morristown Medical Center led a panel discussion with two other doctors and the head of a prestigious private school with the concerned audience members, all looking to help children and teens combat the problem of being over-worked in this highly driven society. The hour-long discussion followed a screening of the documentary "Race to Nowhere." "I think we need to encourage kids to …

If we are such a results driven nation then why are we getting our butts kicked by other nations? Maybe because they really have to work to survive? Our country of handouts is ruining our work ethic. See the illegals working hard here mowing your lawn? Guess why? The can't get welfare!!!   more ›

The eighth-graders at Morris Catholic Junior School took part in a discussion that focused on the problem of cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying's not just unpleasant, Morris Catholic Junior School students were told Friday. It has serious consequences. "People can get fined and go to jail, but even greater, it can destroy someone's life, their families' lives, and everyone they love around them," Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce told an assembly of about 40 students from grades four through eight, as well as teachers and parents. "Be very mindful of what you're saying, if you're going to write something that's nasty and not nice, think about having something like that written about you." Sidelined by Injury, Teen a Hockey Star on the Rise

16-year-old Steven Windt has been accepted to attend the prestigious Cushing Academy prep school in the fall.

What a difference a year makes. Sixteen-year-old Township resident Steven Windt is probably saying that every time he takes to the ice. Just a year ago, Steven, a junior at Morristown High School and active hockey player, was sidelined for emergency surgery to remove his appendix.  Add to the unfortunate stew both recent concussions and a broken collarbone. "It was the worst time imaginable because it was tryout time for hockey and he wanted to play for a Junior Hockey team," said Paula Windt, Steven's mother. "Well, he couldn't try out, not for any team. We all were so upset because who would want Steven if they couldn't see him tryout? He was devastated." Devastated, but not out of it. Lou Windt, Steven's father, made a phone call the …

Home 'Trumps' All for Tebow? It May Be QB's Best Option

Area real estate agents say gated communities are scarce if that's his wish.

Is Tim Tebow trying to take Mark Sanchez's job and invade his neighborhood? That's what some were saying when a report surfaced over the weekend that the newest New York Jet was looking at a home in the upscale Trump National Golf Club community in Bedminister. It also happens to contain the residence of the team's current starting quarterback. It's not hard to see why some were doing a double-take. After all, the most highly-publicized backup quarterback ever has not only been getting all of the media attention, but that comes right after Sanchez signed a three-year contract extension. Many fans believe he's here to take Sanchez's job. But now his house? Then again, Tebow's options may be limited, according to area real estate agents. "…

Tim Tebow Introduced, Minus Flock of Fans [VIDEO]

Jets' highly publicized backup QB introduced at team's Morris County training facility.

Tebow Mania hit New Jersey on Monday, but it was the media and not the fans who bombarded the New York Jets’ Morris County training facility as the most-publicized backup QB acquisition ever was officially unveiled. Tim Tebow spoke to reporters for the first time since the trade, saying he expects a "great working relationship" with current quarterback Mark Sanchez, according to ESPN.com Tebow’s introductory conference caused a larger crowd than any free agent, trade, or Rex Ryan comment fallout Gang Green has ever seen since moving to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Facility in Florham Park. The proof: it was the first time the team ever had to herd the press into the field house to accommodate a greater presence. More than 200 media …

I'm excited and can't wait for Tebow to run the wildcat for the Jets. Maybe it will give Sanchez the kick in the butt he needs to improve. If it doesn't and Sanchez sucks again, then it is time to move on.   more ›

Tebow's NJ Arrival Causes Fans to Gather

Florham Park Police and training facility security were on the scene ready for Tebow Mania.

Football fans gathered outside of Florham Park's Atlantic Health Jets Training Facility on Thursday to welcome the newest member of Gang Green. Tim Tebow and the sure-to-follow Tebow Mania arrived at the Morristown Municipal Airport shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, and he was expected to join with Jets' personnel shortly after at the team's training facility. Tebow was traded to the New York Jets on Wednesday from the Denver Broncos after the team signed Peyton Manning as a free agent. Manning and the Indianapolis Colts had ended their 14-year relationship earlier in the offseason. The man responsible for the trade was Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum, who is a Basking Ridge resident. Fairleigh Dickinson University students Karlee …
