Commercial real estate giant Mack-Cali announced Tuesday it would be acquiring Roseland Partners, whose Roseland Property Co. owns and manages residential properties in several states, including 40 Park and The Highlands at Morristown Station in Morristown. The deal, estimated to be worth about $135 million, will see Roseland's principals Marshall Tycher, Brad Klatt and Carl Goldberg serve as co-presidents of newly-formed Roseland Management Services, while Edison-based Mack-Cali's President and Chief Operating Officer Mitchell E. What business would you like to see in the Metropolitan?
Upstairs and downstairs, a lot is happening at 40 Park. From their "castles without hassles," to the businesses below–Roots Steakhouse, Urban Table, Starbucks, Qdoba, AT&T and, soon, Powerflow Yoga–this part of one of Morristown's largest redevelopment projects has seen big returns. If you happened to be grabbing a burger at Urban Table, or a latte at Starbucks on Wednesday, you may have smelled a rat. Or, in this case, seen a rat. Two, actually. A pair of 12-foot "union rats," inflatable, red-eyed, big-toothed mice carrying bags of presumably cash, were set up outside the 40 Park luxury development because, as a flier being passed out claims, "Woodmont Properties has hired an inexperienced company to perform deadly asbestos abatement." Woodmont is one of the partners involved in the 40 Park project. Other partners include Roseland Property Company, the Morristown Parking Authority and the Levine family–owners of the former Epstein's Department Store that was knocked down for 40 Park. A statement from Woodmont notes …
