Boy Scouts Moving to Cedar Knolls

The Patriots Path Council is leaving Florham Park.

The Boy Scouts of America is moving its corporate headquarters from Florham Park for a larger space in Cedar Knolls, according to an article on nj.com. According to the article, the new 14,000-square-foot property on Saddle Road in Cedar Knolls will serve as headquarters for the Patriots' Path Council. The council, the article said, serves Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Union counties. This change, the article said, is coming as the lease on the current property is about to expire, and the council has been looking to buy its own building.

Morristown Siblings Discover Dad's Scout Abuse, Recall Their Molestation

Scout executive dad allegedly began sex abuse at Stanhope camp in 1963, family abuse started soon afterwards.

A brother and sister on opposite sides of the world are discovering the depth of their father’s abuse of Boy Scouts beginning in 1963 and recalling their own abuse, according to an Associated Press story via ABCnews.com. The son and daughter of Brandon P. Gray, a Scout executive in Morristown, are learning more about how his position with the organization was terminated after he abused a Scout at Mt. Allamuchy Camp in Stanhope that night. The siblings have gone through many years of personal pain and suffering, but are now speaking out about the abuse.

Over 100 NJ Scout Leaders On Organization's Banned List

Scores of files kept secret for decades by the Boy Scouts of America to document suspected molesters within the organization are starting to leak out.

Portions of a confidential Boy Scouts of America list kept for decades by the organization to document suspected molesters within their ranks were released earlier this week. Another batch of confidential "Ineligible Volunteer Files," some overlapping with the first set, is expected to be released Thursday on the order of the Oregon Supreme Court. Known colloquially to Boy Scouts executives as the "Perversion Files," the list contains names and allegations against thousands of Scout leaders who were suspected of sexually abusing young scouts and dismissed from their jobs within the organization, including more than 100 in New Jersey.
