Thanks to grants from Morris County and the state, Morristown is moving ahead to buy the property that is home to the Early Street Community Garden. On Tuesday, the council introduced an ordinance to purchase the property, owned by Early Development LLC, for $2.1 million. Bluegrass music and New Jersey documentary featured Friday night.
A group of about 50 riders gathered at Town Hall to travel through Morristown to the Early Street Community Garden for dinner and a movie. The movie was a unique experience, a documentary about the state by a New Jersey director who was on hand to answer questions and talk about his film, "Sourlands." The film is the story of the Sourlands Mountain region in Somerset County and the farms, forests and energy issues of the region.

A busy meeting is on tap for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall.
It may be a day for lovers, but it's also a day for a lovely Town Council meeting. Who needs flowers and chocolate when you have these five items on tonight's agenda? That includes a community garden's potential place of permanance in Morristown and, maybe, a circus (and, anything else you may want to know about on the agenda can be found on the PDF included with this post).
