The general consensus from several customers and at least one employee of Kings Supermarket is that Sunday night's robbery was an isolated incident. That said, it might be necessary for the store to hire additional security, especially at night. According to employee accounts provided to Morristown Police, two men wearing long sleeves, dark clothing and ski masks entered the store at about 9:45 p.m. on July 15, jumped over the customer service counter, pushed an employee to the side and took less than $1,000. Two unarmed men wearing dark clothing and ski masks pushed a store employee and robbed the Kings Supermarket of less than $1,000 late Sunday night, Morristown Police said. According to a statement issued Monday by Morristown Police Capt. Steven Sarinelli, the robbery occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. The supermarket closes at 10 p.m. on Sundays. According to employee accounts, a newer model black or dark-colored Jeep Cherokee pulled in front of the main entrance to the store, police said. I was quoted in the article. I don't really know what I think, other than that it's probably an isolated incident (at least I would hope), but it occurred to me after I spoke to the reporter that Kings was my first job at age 15 - so, it's kind of strange to think that it was robbed while people were still working and people were still shopping. I never worked at night, though.   more ›
