Last Chance: Bid on Ringo Tickets

Online auction ends at 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 23.

Were you excited to see Ringo Starr perform at the Mayo Performing Arts Center but disappointed the show is sold out? Well, if you really, really want to see it, and want to get involved in supporting the MPAC, you have until 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 to bid on a pair of front row tickets to see the Beatles drummer himself on June 27. Click here to get in on the bidding war. But, be prepared to pony up the dough. As of 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the price was up to $1,000.

Last Chance: Cheap Rain Barrels, MPAC Tickets

Several upcoming MPAC performances available.

If you're looking for some ways to be a bit greener around the house, you might to consider ordering a rain barrel or compost bin, being offered at a discount through a sale by Sustainable Morristown and the Morris Plains "Sustain the Plains Committee." Rain barrels are being sold at $80, compost bins are going for $60, and can be picked up and paid for on Saturday, May 19 at either Morristown Town Hall in the morning or Morris Plains Borough School in the afternoon for those who pre-order by noon Friday. Last Chance: Train to be a Poll Worker

Class required every 2 years to stay certified

Time is running out for poll workers to take certification training if they want to continue to work at election sites. The deadline, according to Tony Desimone, the county’s poll worker training coordinator, is June 2. Title 19 of New Jersey election law requires that all poll workers take an election training class every two years to become or remain a certified board worker, Desimone said in a statement sent to media. Desimone said veteran poll workers who took the class the first time it was offered in 2010 must take a training class by June 2 to become recertified. “It’s the law. Children's Day of Art Registration Ending Soon Time is running out to register for the Children's Day of Art, a full day of hands-on workshops led by professional artists in cartooning, drama, eco-sculpture, music, poetry and pottery for children ages 6-13 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Morristown on May 12. Last Chance: All County Garage Sale Registration

Deadline is coming up April 22

The Friends of Historic Speedwell is sponsoring an All County Garage Sale on May 5 and 6 at Mennen Arena to raise funds for the nonprofit organization Historic Speedwell. Anyone can register to become a vendor until the April 22 deadline. Mark Sutherland, the superintendent of Historic Speedwell, said that the organization is hoping for about 80 people to sign up for a spot in the arena. As of mid-April it's up to about 45 people, but Sutherland said organizers getting more people everyday. Vendors must pay $100 fees to rent spaces, but they get to keep all of the proceeds from their sold items. The admission charge for the public is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children 12 and under.  The funds from the…

As the work week comes to an end, a few events should be on your radars because, wait for it–it's your "Last Chance!" On Thursday, April 12, The Side Bar will host the "Karaoke for a Cause 2" event from 7 to 10 p.m. for those 21 and over. $5 entry, and $1 per song will go toward the night's 50/50 raffle, as well as the Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp for children. Last Chance: Guster Performs at Pingry Friday Night

Tickets still available to see Pingry alum Adam Gardner and the rest of the band.

Adam Gardner, a 1991 Pingry School alum and member of Guster, will perform with his band Friday night at the school. The band has performed nationally and currently creates out of the Middletree Studios in Nashville. Guster will perform such hits as "Easy Wonderful" and "Do You Love Me?" from their album, which features cover art by Jon Sarkin, a 1971 Pingry alum. The performance will be held Friday night at the Hauser Auditorium on the Martinsville campus. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $36 each. Sarkin was once a practicing chiropractor, but after a brain hemorrhage and a stroke that nearly killed him, the doctor became a prolific artist who creates elaborate drawings and paintings vibrant with words …

Last Chance to See Seussical, Yankees, Tenor

Three great shows are wrapping up their runs.

Time is running out to see some shows that have been gracing North Jersey's stages for the last few weeks. "Seussical," "Damn Yankees," "Lend Me a Tenor" and "A Flea in Her Ear" are all wrapping up their runs on April 1. There are also plenty of concerts to choose from, featuring everything from country music (Loretta Lynn and The Del McCoury Band at the Mayo Performing Arts Center), classical (chamber music, also at the Mayor), and even surf music (the Ventures at The Newton Theatre).
