Developer expects Latitude to be ready in about a year and a half.
Mill Creek Residential Trust broke ground on Tuesday for Phase I at 32 Early St., which will become the new location of Latitude, luxury rentals. The firm began demolishing homes and removing debris and brush in January to clear the land. Demolition has finished and the groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction. Rich Murphy, Mill Creek Residential Managing Director, said that Mill Creek got involved in the project about five years ago. Phase I construction begins after Tuesday's groundbreaking ceremony.

Developers of 'Latitude' anticipate occupancy in 2014.
In 2012, the Speedwell Redevelopment Plan was finally approved. In 2013, work on its first phase is expected to begin, to make way for occupation next year. Mill Creek Residential announced Wednesday it had closed on its purchase of Phase I of the Speedwell Redevelopment project. This land purchase paves the way for development of "Latitude," dubbed "a luxury rental apartment development that will further enhance Morristown as a pedestrian-friendly, destination community," according to a press release. Not sure which houses you are looking at, but it appears the house's on the lake side are much smaller lots than the others. The zillow estimates are not always that accurate, so I would make sure you are looking at pricing of houses actually on the market (or recently sold).   more ›
