Mother of Morristown freshman who committed suicide last March after bullying reportedly said other teen showed not 'hint of remorse.'
Michael Conway, 19, who changed his story after first telling police he was not present at bullying incidents that preceeded the suicide of Morristown High School freshman Lennon Baldwin in March 2012, has been sentenced to three years' probation, NJ.com reported. The victim's mother, Sharon Varnelas, said in a victim-impact statement that the older Morristown teen "stood by and watched while criminals terrorized, threatened and stole money from a much younger and sorely outnumbered Lennon," according to the Friday report in NJ.com. Conway’s attorney, Edmund DeNoia, said in Superior Court in Morristown that Conway had not been involved with bullying, threats or robbery. Authorities say 15-year-old Lennon Baldwin, a freshman at Morristown …

Franklin Township High School student-produced and performed anti-bullying production will be seen at 7 p.m. Thursday at Morristown High School.
The suicide of Morristown High School freshman Lennon Baldwin earlier this year rocked the community, and brought back into the forefront the question of what can be perceived as bullying and how far some may go to end it. The connection between that tragedy and the Thursday showing of "Shadows," an anti-bullying program created by students and faculty at Franklin Township High School in Somerset County, is not lost on Greg DiGioacchino, dean of students for Morristown High School. But, bullying goes beyond just one person or situation—it is persistent. "We're looking to keep this kind of stuff on the forefront," DiGioacchino said of the program, which was created by Franklin Township High School's Applied Theatre program based on 700 …

Michael Conway is accused of providing false statements to the prosecutor's office.
The trial for one of the teens accused of bullying 15-year-old Lennon Baldwin shortly before he committed suicide is set for Monday. Michael Conway, the only adult charged in bullying incidents some believe led to the suicide of the Morris Township teen is scheduled to go before the judge Monday morning at the Morris County Courthouse. The trial was originally set for July 31 but was rescheduled. The two juveniles involved in the series of incidents pled guilty in Family Court on July 24. Baldwin was assaulted at Morristown High School on March 6 by one of the juveniles, whose name has not been made public due to his age at the time of the incident. That assault was captured on the school's surveillance system, which led to the suspension…
