Public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at town hall to discuss whether to approve the liquor license for the expansion of Tashmoo Restaurant & Bar on DeHart Street. What do you think?
The Morristown Town Council is holding a special meeting with a public hearing on Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at town hall to discuss whether to approve the liquor license for the expansion of Tashmoo Restaurant & Bar on DeHart Street. The public is invited to express their support or disapproval. The hearing was scheduled after the council received a letter from Christine D. Conti-Collins objecting to the place-to-place transfer of the license. Under state law, the municipality must hold a public hearing on a transfer if the objection is raised. The Walsh family, which owns Tashmoo and the nearby Dark Horse Lounge and Sona Thirteen, submitted plans to the town to buy the adjacent property at 10 DeHart Street and construct a two-story bar …

Liquor license renewals slated to be discussed at Tuesday, June 26 Town Council meeting.
Living among the hustle and bustle of a downtown area is different from living in the 'burbs. Just ask Christine Conti-Collins. Conti-Collins, a 19-year Morristown resident from Brooklyn, moved a couple years ago to 40 Park, the luxury condo development along the Green. She, along with other residents, have issued complaints about the bars operating in that section of town. Chief among those complaints is not noise–which Conti-Collins said she knows has to be expected in a busy section of town–but other quality-of-life concerns, such as traffic congestion and human waste, including vomit, urine and excrement, which she has said often follows a busy weekend at the bars. With liquor license renewals expected to be discussed by Town Council …
Christine Conti-Collins, of 40 Park, among several residents to issue complaints regarding pending liquor license renewals.
For at least one 40 Park resident, the issue with bars near her residence has not been about noise, and anyone who thinks it has been is missing the point, she said. Christine Conti-Collins, a 19-year resident of Morristown from Brooklyn now living in the luxury condo development, said the main issues with the bars—mainly during the weekend—are safety and quality of life for everyone living in that area of town, not just at 40 Park. "There is severe traffic congestion, there's an incredible amount of garbage. There are safety issues," she said. Conti-Collins, along with fellow 40 Park residents Marie Rozan and Roseann Loia, recently issued letters of complaint to the town regarding all of the bars in that area—Sona Thirteen, Tashmoo, The …

Special meeting to be held at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.
Those interested in the proposal for a new Futbolandia restaurant at 4 Early St. will want to mark their calendars for 7 p.m. May 30, which has been set for the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Hearing for the proposed property. The meeting will be held in the council room at Town Hall. Last month, members of the Walsh family, which also owns several other bars and restaurants in town–including Tashmoo, The Dark Horse Lounge and Sona Thirteen–came before Town Council regarding their interest in transferring a "pocket," or currently unused, liquor license to the property, which previously had served as a banquet hall that catered primarily to the Hispanic population in that area. Both those in favor and against the proposal turned out for …
