A Morris Township man is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and more following a reported hit-and-run accident near Frederick Place March 16, according to a Morris Township Police Department statement. Capt. Richard Ferrone said officers went to a Frederick Place residence to document a hit-and-run collision and found the person who had made the call, 44-year-old Henri Linden, intoxicated. Linden told officers that his vehicle was the victim of a hit-and-run collision in Morristown, the statement said. A Morristown man believed to be involved in two accidents on Interstate 78 was arrested for drunk driving Wednesday, Chatham Borough Police said. Christopher Grandados, 25, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and reckless driving. Police also determined Granados "was involved in at least two motor vehicle accidents" on I-78 before he entered Chatham, according to a statement released by Kevin O'Shea, of the Chatham Borough Police Department. 15-year-old female was followed Thursday afternoon from Morristown High School to area of Burnham Park, according to police.
Morristown and Morris Township Police are conducting a joint investigation after a 15-year-old girl said a man followed her on her way home from school. According to a press release issued Friday by Morristown Police Capt. Steven Sarinelli, at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, the girl was approached outside Morristown High School by who the alleged victim described to police as a well-dressed, pale-skinned Hispanic male with a heavy accent who was in a blue or black pickup truck that had landscaping equipment in the back and was parked on Early Street. Gun shots struck an East Hanover Avenue home in Morris Township late Wednesday night, but no one was injured, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. According to a statement released Thursday by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, East Hanover Avenue residents reported what they believed were fireworks discharged in the area Wednesday night at about 11:30 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed "multiple shots were discharged from a firearm impacting a residence on East Hanover Avenue," the prosecutor's office said. Honeywell, police work together on project at Morristown community support center.
Well, that's neighborly. Friday and Saturday, volunteers from Honeywell worked with the Morris Township Police Department to make improvements to the Neighborhood House in Morristown. The work was part of the 'Rebuilding Together' project, made possible through an $11,000 grant from Honeywell. Morris Township Police Chief Dennis Reilly said ahead of the project that volunteers would remodel the building’s lobby, install a new swing set and playhouse, put in a new roof for outdoor space, build bookcases for the facility’s library, create a vegetable garden, repair the surrounding fence, and refurbish the facility with fresh paint.
