Areas from eastern Pennsylvania to the top of Maine had inches of snow fall from the nor'easter. Bookmark this post to keep up to date on snow news throughout the weekend Update: The first snowstorm of 2012 is out of the way and now the end of the weekend lies ahead. As of late Saturday night, the National Weather Service was calling for a slight chance of rain after 4 p.m. on Sunday. The NWS was also predicting slight chance of rain or freezing rain before 4 a.m. on Monday. Update: As of mid-day Saturday, the National Weather Service updated its forecast to predict snow would continue until about 1 p.m. on Saturday. The NWS estimates 2 to 4 inches of total accumulation. Residents want weekend winter weather, not washout; town ready for the worst.
While some have been more than fine with this winter so far being a dry, albeit cold affair, there are still plenty of people hoping the forecasted snow storm headed to the area Friday night into Saturday is more than just a few flurries. "It's just such a tease when it's so cold and there's no snow," said Bria Young, manager at Zebu Forno, on South Street. "What's the point of having all this cold weather if you're not going to have any snow?" Morristown resident Danielle Issaacs agreed. "I want snow," she said. "If it's going to be this cold, I want to see some white." While predictions have varied from just one to three inches of snow, to a possible total of eight inches before it's all over, Isaacs said, "I'm hoping for the higher end…
