The inaugural film festival is part of Morristown HS' 5th Annual Art & Design Week
The Parking Authority will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the parking authority office at 14 Maple Avenue, suite 101. The Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at town hall. Morristown & Morris Township Public Library Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the library. The county freeholders will hold their regular meeting at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Roxbury Municipal building– 1715 Route 46, Ledgewood. Beginning with ceremonies at Roberts Garden at 9 a.m. Saturday, this Morris Plains parade starts immediately afterwards. It ends at the VFW Post 3401 on Route 53 with food, drinks, and entertainment for all to enjoy. The board of education will meet on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Learning Center. The town council will meet at town hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The agenda includes mayoral proclamations for Mental Health Awareness Month and Arbor Day as well as an ordinance for improvements at the Morristown Municipal Airport and appropriating $141,866.42 to pay for part of the costs. This ordinance is for the Wildlife Hazard Assessment and Wildlife Management Plan at the airport. After a heated public hearing last week, the Morris ABC Board will meet April 10 to decide whether to approve the liquor license transfer for the proposed expansion of Tashmoo Restaurant & Bar on DeHart Street. The Morristown town council will meet this Tuesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. and one of their agenda items is to pass a resolution in support of federal legislation adopting New Jersey’s strict gun laws. Morristown resident Bryan Mills, who allegedly severely beat a man in front of the American Legion on Abbett Avenue in January, is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Morristown this week. The apparent victim of the attack was hospitalized for a fractured skull and broken nose and remained so during Mill's first court appearance on Jan. 30. Mills has served in prison in the past for incidents in 1998. Mills also pleaded guilty in 2003 to allegedly shooting a man in the face over a dispute over a cigarette.
