ReplyI admire the nurses for choosing to make this donation. But it reminds me that I haven't seen anything yet about how Mary Pat Christie is distributing the moneys collected.

ReplyI see that a new official is expected to replace Albert Mastrobattista. As a realtor helping residents sell their houses and get CCO's (Certificates of Continued Occupancy) through Albert's department, I have always felt he was fair to deal with. But the inspector who checks that the homes meet standards always has requirements that don't match the printed instructions. The rules are fairly easy to follow: smoke detectors on every level of a home, carbon monoxide detectors on any level with a bedroom, and within 10 feet of each bedroom. They can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall 4 inches from the ceiling. The inspector always wants something different -- smoke detectors moved to the ceiling, carbon monoxide detectors moved to the wall and required on levels without bedrooms. This is very inefficient, always requiring a 2nd visit to the home, inconveniencing homeowners. I hope the new official's first matter of business will be to make sure the INSPECTOR ENFORCES THE PRINTED REGULATIONS, or rewrites the printed regulations.

The Nixle message said it was at 95 Mt. Kemble. I believe I see the small brick condo building at 90 Mt. Kemble in the photo.

ReplyI am skeptical about the validity of this news item. A 4% add-on is a big deal. Don't you think there would have been some discussion about such legislation in recent weeks via media other than the internet?

ReplyAs a realtor, it occurs to me that instead of focusing on the higher prices Whole Foods will charge compared to the A&P, the homeowners in the neighborhood should look at the positives. They will experience an increase in the values of their homes because of the proximity to an upscale supermarket.

I agree with Prentiss. Morris Township needs to put pressure on JCP&L to develop a communication system which (1). lets residents see that JCP&L knows where the outages are; and (2). shows residents the timetable for getting power back to individual streets. My power finally returned this afternoon. How about if JCP&L is required to hook up generators for everyone who's power isn't expected to be restored until the second half of the restoration period!

Don't say "Debbie Downer". I'm thrilled about the news, but the truth is that Trader Joe's offers good things at better prices than Whole Foods.

They may have employees who live in Morristown, and that's the reason they chose a project in Morristown.
